Azure Crash - Lunar Knight

Despite the sharp design of the armor, the story behind -this- is meant to sound as if coming from the mind of a very young child(or in this case, a foal)

I'm sure we can all relate to this sort of thing because we all probably did it as kids. I for one would pretend that I was a Red Ranger capable of turning into a more powerful Gold Ranger whenever I equipped the Green Rangers shield.

An extension of You're My Princess

As a foal, Azure was fascinated by the younger Alicorn sister that ruled over Equestria. So much in fact that he had somewhat of a "crush" on her, collecting pictures of her from history books or drawing them himself.

When he wasn't studying or practicing his flying skills, he was play fighting imaginary monsters in his backyard or on the playground at school with other foals. It was in these games that he took on the form of the Lunar Knight - A special knight equipped with a suit of armor given only to the one whom Princess Luna herself deemed worthy of wearing.

At home, Azure's imagination ran wild - He imagined himself and the princess on a mysterious alien planet and his goal was to protect her from the strange monsters that roamed the planet as they tried to find a way back to Equestria. It was at school where Azure would meet these monsters -his classmates- face to face in mortal combat.

Azure must shout "Verto" in order to transform into the Lunar Knight.

The wearer of this armor is protected by a strong magical barrier that could withstand even the weight of a Hydra coming down on it.

Despite this, it is NOT indestructible and is weak against the opposing Solar element.

The back of each foreleg greave had a large magical blade that would protrude out from the elbow

Is referred to as "Captain Crash" by the members of Luna's personal Royal Guard, despite being a solo agent for the Princess.

The result of my playing a lot of White Knight Chronicles lately and wanting to include a nod to Power Rangers with my character.
